The foundation of every check-up is a careful review of your medical history as well as a thorough physical examination to determine your individual needs. Your physician will accompany you throughout the entire check-up from this point onwards.

This is a fundamental cardiological and vascular medicine baseline examination that takes one minute and is both straightforward and highly informative. The examination provides an important comparative blood pressure measurement between the arms and legs and additionally assesses the patency of the arterial system down to the lower leg.

During an ECG, the heart’s electrical activity is measured via leads placed on the chest. Cardiac arrhythmias and ECG changes can be detected here, which may provide indications of circulatory disorders.

The ultrasound examination of the brain-supplying vessels is an important vascular medicine examination for a simple, rapid and precise assessment of the carotid arteries.

Cardiac Ultrasound (Colour Doppler Echocardiography)

This fundamental cardiological examination is gentle, swift and precise. Heart size, cardiac output and heart valve function are assessed here. At the same time, the abdominal aorta is systematically screened for possible aneurysms.

Abdominal sonography is one of the most important internal medicine preventive examinations. It involves a systematic assessment of the liver, gallbladder, bile duct, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, abdominal aorta, urinary bladder as well as the uterus or prostate.

Lung Function Measurement (Body Plethysmography)

The comprehensive and precise lung function measurement examines for respiratory conditions with narrowed airways (e.g. chronic bronchitis or bronchial asthma). The stress ECG is an important component of basic cardiological diagnostics. Physical performance capacity and blood pressure behaviour under exercise conditions are assessed here. Particular attention is paid to possible cardiac arrhythmias under stress or signs of circulatory disorders.

Once all examination results are available, your physician will discuss your results with you in a comprehensive closing consultation, with clear explanations and handover of all findings documents. You are in good hands and will receive thorough advice.

Cost Coverage

Persons entitled to subsidies and privately insured patients can bill the medical services of the Max Grundig Klinik through their insurance. However, individual contract terms may exclude certain services, meaning it is strongly recommended to review the agreement with the private health insurance/subsidy office. The Max Grundig Klinik is not approved by statutory health insurance.

Furthermore, the Prevention Centre of the Max Grundig Klinik does not offer flat-rate check-up services. Following a detailed admission consultation with the physician, the necessary examination content is determined according to each individual’s situation. Pre-existing conditions, individual health concerns and age play a decisive role in this process. All examinations are billed as outpatient services according to the fee schedule for physicians (GOÄ).

What you would naturally treat your car to, your body needs even more urgently: a regular check-up. After all, which car has a life expectancy of eighty, ninety, or even a hundred years? Unfortunately, very few people visit a doctor before they fall ill. Yet prevention is the best therapy.

To rule out unforeseen breakdowns, we recommend our check-up every two years for those over 50 – but younger people too should get a picture of their own health through a check-up with us.
